I lost a lot in the past two years. It seemed like I could never get a break from mourning or being sad, no matter how many good things were happening to me. So, I decided to take a mental health break by listening to more music and attending more concerts. I’ve made so much progress, and I’m really glad I took a little time from life to work on ME. How do you work on you?

As a writer, one is busy with archaeology. —Michael Ondaatje
I'm both a writer and a pilgrim, and when I find myself before places as exquisite as this one, I can't help but think about the stories built into the walls, the floors, the roofs. We all need structures in which our stories can live, grow, and haunt. One of mine looks like the 17th-century Jama Masjid mosque in Old Delhi. This gorgeous structure—pilgrim destination through the centuries—was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, who also built the Taj Mahal. #travelwriter#michaelondaajte#princetonalumni@natgeoyourshot#yourshotphotographer
