If your dog eats rocks (or even if they don’t), you’ll want to read this.
Some people might be guilty of throwing rocks for their pups to chase, to keep them busy when there are no toys are around. This is not the best way to play, needless to say. Your dog could end up with chipped teeth or cuts to the mouth, or they might accidentally swallow the rock which can cause irreversible internal damage.
If your dog has a habit of eating rocks, this may be a sign of an underlying health condition called Pica. Pica occurs when your dog is experiencing a low level of red blood cells. If you notice your dog is eating rocks or find them in your dog’s stool, we recommend making a trip to your vet.
