What does hopscotch have to do with "Offal"? For exhibition artists/collaborators #GazelleSamizay and #LabkhandOlfatmanesh and #RobertFaridKarimi, this childhood game represents themes of familial histories, migration, and assimilation. In Samizay and Olfatmanesh's video "Bepar (Hop)” (first image), hopscotch is employed as a common cultural reference (named "lay lay" in Iran and "joz baazi" in Afghanistan) to explore the universal struggles that girls face as they grow into adulthood. The particularities of their experiences as women of Iranian and Afghan heritage fed the artists’ collaboration, though Labkhand grew up in Iran, and Gazelle in the U.S., allowing them to create a universal story rooted in specific cultural intersections, and revealing the importance of food traditions in creating family bonds and sanctifying ceremonies. While in Karimi's "Pickles & Hopscotch” (second image) visitors are invited to participate in the work and consider the immigrant journeys on these paths.
Experience both of these works and more in "Offal"! We're open Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 11 – 4 PM and Saturdays from 11 – 7 PM.
Idk why when going out, driving this scooter around with my sis that day...i felt incredibly...grateful and happy. The feeling of happiness flooded my whole body that almost every time i raised my hands up and scream ‘wiiiiiiii’ in excitement. I’m so grateful i have the opportunity to live here. I love this place. Surely i’ll miss Seoul a lot when i’m back home for good
De alguna forma he ido encontrando mi propio camino aquí.

Screen shot of a small video exercise I made with my best friend and my lil sis! They accidentally chose matching hanbok so we decided to shoot something for fun. Having this fake couple to walk around the palace wasn’t easy lol. They’re both so dorky and actually nemesis in real life 🤣
[the abandoned music set] I’m so sorry for the number of photos, but there are my clear and peaceful inspirations in this summer night! [so clear and final]
so - it is the final chord, Im gonna dream about—
