BEST POST WORKOUT DRINK? GREEN JUICE!👊🏽
I normally do fasted workouts in the am with nothing but distilled water or coconut water before hand. Then after pushing my body, the first thing I like to re-fuel with is a hearty 32 oz green juice which my body just soaks up. It’s perfect to not just rehydrate but also to recover quicker and keep down inflammation especially if you go heavy with the greens and ginger in your juice. That’s exactly what was in this green juice today(1 lbs of spinach, celery, cucumber, ginger, lemon and young Thai coconut water). Today I popped in one of my boys @zeshaun.mirza training sesh with my favorite players, one of the best players and one of the best scorers PERIOD in the NBA @dbook to do some filming. So you know I HAD to make sure I delivered the goods for a post-workout. ✊🏽
My fav kind of food I always bring to the party: cheese variety, mini appetizers, grapes and nuts. Cheers to weekend!

Reposted from @plantd.co ( @get_regrann) - Buckwheat soba noodles in a miso broth by @plantbasedrd 🍜 Served with edamame, miso eggplant, baked mushrooms and bok choy! Get the recipe:
1 small eggplant, cap removed and cut directly in half lengthwise
2 tsp mustard
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp miso paste
2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
Pinch of garlic powder
Pinch of ginger powder 🥣
Set oven to 400F Fill a medium bowl or dish with salted water and submerge both eggplant pieces under water for about 10 minutes. Remove eggplant and score it as desired. Whisk together remaining ingredients except miso paste. Brush the surface of the eggplant with the sauce to fully coat the scored side of the eggplant (make sure sauce gets into the individual grooves). With the remaining sauce, add miso and whisk it in then set aside. Take eggplant and place in the oven for 10-15 minutes. Pull eggplant out and baste again with the miso sauce. Place back in the oven for another 6-8 minutes or until middle of eggplant is soft. Remove eggplant from oven, and brush again with remaining sauce. Carefully transfer eggplant to a serving plate and enjoy as desired. You can scoop out the inside with a spoon if you are not a fan of eggplant skin.

Here are 7 health benefits of the #mandarin#orange:
1. Mandarin oranges may improve your brain health
Several components of oranges, such as potassium, folate, and various antioxidants are known to provide neurological benefits. Folate has been known to reduce the occurrence of Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive decline. Potassium has been linked to increase blood flow to the brain and enhance cognition, concentration, and neural activity. Also, mandarin oranges are loaded with vitamin B6, whose deficiency is shown to lead to depression and #nausea. Be sure not to consume too much. The vitamin B6 upper limit is set to 100 milligrams for adults over the age of 18, but adults do not need that much unless directed by the doctor.
2. Mandarin oranges are helpful for #pregnant women and their babies
Mandarin oranges are an excellent source of the B-vitamin complex, such as folate or folic acid. Folate has shown to help in neural tube formation and red blood cell formation in #prenatal babies. A deficiency of folic acid in pregnant women can lead to the birth of underweight infants and may also result in neural tube defects in newborns.
3. Mandarin oranges can help maintain a healthy blood pressure
Mandarin oranges are packed with potassium and a low content of sodium. They are well known because of their high potassium content. A mandarin orange contains 324 milligrams of potassium, compared to zero milligrams of sodium. This helps the blood vessels relax and maintains proper blood pressure.
