Hit the ground running as soon as I landed because there is no time like the present amiright?! Also y’all already know how much I enjoy visiting museums whenever I travel 🧳 The Museo Reina Sofìa ( @museoreinasofia) happened to be a short walk from my Airbnb, so naturally it was the first place I decided to visit while in Madrid. Currently it houses a series of permanent and temporary exhibitions including ‘Poèticas de la democracia: Imàgenes y contraimàgenes de la Transición. In it included a group collection of work ranging from photography, text, and print work on feminism. Aside from this what really blew me away was an exhibit by David Wojnarowicz titled ‘La historia me quita el sueño’ ☁️ 🛏 such a large body of work spread throughout 4 maybe 5 rooms to be honest I lost count, his body of work consisting spread across photography, painting, music, film, sculpture, writing and activism. Such talent housed in this museum reflecting the world of the past yet relevant today. .
It is always nice to take a little souvenir from everywhere you have been. These patches and pins are a constant memento and reminder that though I’ve traveled far, I’m not even close to done yet 😊. I see a lot of sewing in my future to get them on my bag...
