The answer? BRAND ARCHETYPES.
Brand archetypes are the heartbeat of a brand.
Simply put, archetypes are the personification of human emotion & behaviors.
There are 12 Jungian Archetypes which are used EVERY DAY in advertising & branding to create enduring connections with customers.
These archetypes match our 12 basic human desires, which are rooted in psychology and our sub-conscious.
Consider, Harley Davidson… this brand appeals to outlaws and they position themselves as so. Their whole brand focuses on this outlaw persona.

In his free time, he likes to play with his cat Simon or prepare for the Dungeons and Dragons campaign that he runs. He's looking forward to exploring careers in the blossoming world of social media and has dreams of working for smaller businesses like mom-and-pop shops, non-profits, and community organizations.⠀
Emma was a part of our first-ever internship class back in January and is rejoining us again for the fall semester! She is a junior from southern Illinois studying Media Advertising and Management. Her favorite social platform is Twitter. In her free time, she likes to read and watch stand-up at the @ComedyAttic. She has also instructed tennis at the IUTC for two years.⠀
Nicole is a senior at IU majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Sports Marketing. In her free time, Nicole enjoys cooking, reading, going on runs and spending time with her family, friends and dogs. Her dream job is to work for a sports team working on their social media content. ⠀
