And then Thanksgiving happened last week. And I've STILL maintained!! Check the pic on the right! I'm even the same weight today as I was when I finished the cleanse. .

Make no mistake, I thoroughly enjoyed my week with family. My mom is an amazing cook, baker, and hostess, and there was no shortage of treats!
But sticking to healthy, whole food choices really gave me the flexibility to indulge and stay on track! .

Something I ate yesterday didn't agree with me.
In fact, it outright attacked me. 😣 Ugh.
So we had a super low key morning. And even though I'm up, feeling, better, and eating now, we're still having a chill day here.

I completed a 3-day cleanse and detox, and the results are IN!
You might not SEE much in the way of changes. But stats are:
Weight: ⬇️2.5 lbs
Inches: ⬇️1.75 total
What you CAN'T see, is

Not gonna lie. This was HARD, especially the first 2 days. My body was detoxing, I was tired, and i just wanted my warm, comforting cup of coffee! But yesterday, I finally felt NORMAL again. I felt GOOD! I didn't feel like I HAD to have my coffee or a treat.
Mentally, I also feel so much more centered. I'm not frazzled trying to stick to my nutrition plan while fending off cravings or mid-afternoon exhaustion.
And I SLEPT GREAT!! Sleep is a tough one for me, but I MADE it a priority during this cleanse, and my body responded.

I am a busy wife, mother, and full-time editor. Wishing or hoping I had time to do something would never make it happen. Funny how that works, right?! So I plan. I commit. I dedicate myself to being consistent. And although I may stumble, fall, or outright fail sometimes, that's all part of the process toward my goals.
Staying dedicated to a healthy life means I'll never completely fail to give my body what it truly needs.
Keeping the commitment to myself to exercise every day means I'll never accept a sedentary lifestyle again.
Planning, learning, and growing through the journey means I'll always find something new and engaging and empowering to keep me going!! So what about you? Do you just wish?

I got an amazing night's sleep last night, but still woke up feeling fuzzy-headed.
You might wonder why I'm letting myself feel so crappy doing this cleanse. My answer to you: because it's good for me!!! Withdrawing from any substance that isn't serving your body's best interests is going to be a shitty process. But the caffeine and processed foods and sugar really ARE NOT doing me any favors, so it's good to work through cleaning them out.
Sometimes, you've gotta get a little uncomfortable in order to move forward and ultimately be better.
They come at us from every angle every single day! All that junk can really take a toll on our minds and bodies (especially our digestive systems). Our bodies could use a good solid cleaning out every now and then.
I'm doing just that over the next 3 days. 🚫No processed foods.
🚫No simple carbs (especially sugar!)
🚫No coffee (yikes!!) Just lots of 🍓fruits, 🥦veggies, 🌱plant-based protein, 🥑a little healthy fat, and 💦WATER!!! Stick with me and see how it goes! 😉

Today kicks off what is basically a season of indulgence for many of us. The first holiday in a string of feasts and treats. And also the start of a lot of people saying 🤬 it to their health and fitness goals until January 1 rolls around.
WHY?! We work so hard all summer long, and then fall comes, and suddenly it's cool to throw out that discipline? I don't think so!
Let's talk about staying on TRACK through these holidays, k? 🎃 Halloween is ONE day. Enjoy it. Let your kids enjoy it! Go laugh and ooh and aah at all the costumes while Trick-or-Treating, and savor some of that hard-earned candy. But don't keep that giant bucket sitting in your house so you can pick from it every day! You wouldn't do that any other time of year, so don't do it now. Enjoy some, save your faves, then donate the rest! 🏋️♀️ Keep up on your workouts! I know it's getting colder, the days feel shorter and darker, and you've pulled out all the warm, comfy clothes to pile on. But it's still important to get that sweat on, because it's about so much more than how you look. It's about your health and how you FEEL. 🥗 Follow your nutrition plan!! Whether you use containers, track macros, are paleo or vegan, or some variation, your plan should be designed to follow for LIFE! That means you can have 🧁. You can have 🍹. But enjoy those things in moderation. Stick with your plan most of the time; use the healthy recipes in your arsenal so you don't get bored, and invite some people to join you so you can all support each other's healthy goals! 🥰 Take care of yourself. The holiday season gets STRESSFUL, you guys. Do you have a way to manage that stress? Getting enough sleep is a great start, and allowing a little time for self care goes a long way, too.
So, who wants to CHALLENGE themselves to finish the last 60 days of the year STRONGER than they are now?! Who wants to finish out the year HEALTHIER than they are now? Instead of gaining weight or letting your fitness or nutrition slide off track during this season, let's challenge ourselves to be BETTER!

I've spent years fighting with this woman.
I have not loved her to my full capacity, and I've been critical.
I've fed her lies, and told her she wasn't good enough, and allowed others to tell her she wasn't good enough.
I've allowed her to be broken.
I've allowed others to treat her disrespectfully and hurt her deeply.
I’ve allowed others to love her conditionally. Heck, I have loved her conditionally!
I've allowed her to run through brick walls and battle for others who needed it, even if they couldn't stand up for her.
I couldn't stop others from abandoning her, but I've seen her stand up and be a light for the world and love others despite all that.
I have stood paralyzed by fear while she fought battles in her mind, heart, and soul.
This woman has screwed up many times as a partner, as a mother, as a daughter, and as a friend because she doesn't always say and do the "right things." Hell, she rarely even finds the right words to express herself at any given moment.
She has fears, and she has secrets.
She has scars because she has a history that cut her deep.
Some people love this woman.
Some like her.
Some don't care for her at all.
She has done good in her life, and she has made mistakes.
She is random!
She is silly!
She is passionate!
Sometimes she tries to be who she is not.
But she is who she is despite that.
Every mistake, failure, trial, disappointment, success, joy, and achievement has made her into who she is today.
You can love her or not---but if she loves you she will do it with her whole heart and she will make no apologies for who she is.
This woman is a WARRIOR.
She's not perfect, but she has a lot of WORTH.
Gracefully broken, but BEAUTIFULLY standing.
She is LOVE.
She is LIFE.
She is TRANSFORMATION.
She is GRACE.
She is BRAVE.
And she will never stop learning or moving forward... She is me. ❤️ Be proud of who you are. If you aren't yet, then don't give up, because you'll get there.
My sweet girl is getting her first filling today, and mama is feeling all the feels! .
She's in amazing hands, with the best pediatric dentist we could ask for, but I can't help worrying for her. .
So many people grow up to hate and fear the dentist, leading to lifelong dental issues. I was so lucky to have healthy teeth as a kid, so that even now as an adult with a few problems, coming to the dentist is never a scary experience for me. This girl has always loved coming to see everyone and get her terth cleaned, and I hope that continues for her!!
Not every day has to be about going badass mode in an hour-long workout.
Some days, it's about just getting out and jumping on the trampoline and being totally silly with your kid (and mom!)!!
Because if it isn't all a means to live your best life, then what's even the point?
