Let’s be honest - I can’t run the 2.33 miles straight. My kids call it the joggle - It’s a mix of walking, running, jogging, giggling, wiggling. It’s a whole lot of start stop start stop to get it done. But I’m moving and that counts!! I can say that I’m judging all leggings by their roll down factor and these didn’t make the grade today. Great for weights but not so much for running. Part of the stopping was pulling them back up. Now let’s address the ponytail.....I LOVE MY PONYTAIL - it’s my favorite thing about long hair. I like the “whoosh” sound it makes as I put one foot in front of the other. It makes me go just a few steps further when my lungs are screaming for air. It’s something silly but it motivates me! Whatever it takes. Also, it was a rough night with little sleep so I didn’t make it as early but I got it done. Maybe it’s because I’m the “grit your teeth and push through it” type, and maybe I feel out of place talking about the important of mental health (I mean it’s not like I have all my shit together).
I can’t really explain why I love running, sure I have some insight and have put it into words, but I’ve never been able to do it justice. All I know is that running provides me with mental clarity and release. When I don’t run, I don’t feel like myself... .

Finally, I jogged 5k! It's been a goal of mine that I just haven't been able to accomplish. I jog at a slow pace to begin with, yet I'd always start to fatigue 15 minutes in, and getting to 30 minutes was a struggle. Even then, I could only manage slightly over 3k.
Well, I decided to slow my pace even more. It took 43 minutes, but the fact that I could jog that long at all is a miracle! Now I can work on lowering that time, little by little... 💪🏼

My goal for 2019 was to run 520km. I ran my 520th in this morning!!! From St. John’s,NF, that brings me to about Sydney, NS. Next city ... a quick detour to Charlottetown PEI.
I hustled up Mount Thom last night in the dark. Great evening for a trail run and a nice way to spend some alone time planning 2020.
