We have made it INSTANT!!! This combination of rice vermicelli & noodles is a predominant culture of Asia especially from the Penang (Pearl of The Orient) Street Food where is it also known as “Penang Har Mee”(Cantonese dialect for Prawn Noodles)

All you easties should be familiar with this! 😋 In my opinion, one of the better prawn mees (~ $6 for small size which is pretty normal portion size imo) out there!! Selling points that keep drawing crowds here are probably the rich prawn flavour of the soup, enhanced by a generous serving of shallots, and the freshness of the prawns used. Not the biggest portion of prawns, but its meat is firm and bouncy and provides quite a texture! Not really a fan of 黄面, but this is the only dish with yellow noods that I will eat. Wonder why? For all my 黄面 haters out there, this rich prawn soup knocks away the weird aftertaste that you guys have from your usual dose of yellow noods!! Hence, for those of y’all like me, I really recommend THIS😊🦐. Verdict: VALUE for money and QUALITY 👍🏻
Giant freshwater prawn noodle or Sang Har Yee Meen is a favourite of my family.
The creamy roe and sweet juicy essence of the prawns enhance the savoury egg and pork broth, which is poured over crunchy fried noodles.
Spring onions, chives and ginger are used to tone down any "seafoodiness" and also to add a layer of depth to this delectable dish.
Sang Har Yee Meen is often the highlight of a seafood centric dinner.
#은채싱가폴로뽈뽈뽈🇸🇬 Having a Chinese fried dough stick 🥖 for my appetizer before eating prawn noodles🦐🍜 .

This bowl of pork viscera noodle is another of my favourite amongst all the great eats at Tampines Round Market. The noodles served with a prawn broth, really good combination with the ingredients and noodles.

Rise and shine ☀️- our early morning breakfast (6.30am...) - probably one of the best prawn 🦐 noodles that we’ve tried! Plenty of unami in the broth which witnessed hours of simmering of prawn heads and pork ribs. As old school as it gets with a cup of kopi-o-kosong! They even hand-fold a paper “tray” to collect prawn shells and pork bones, how thoughtful! Happy weekend all!
River South (Hoe Nam) Prawn Noodles
31 Tai Thong Crescent,
Patience will pay off, and it’s TGIF again. Similarly, these prawnlicious dishes are totally worth a wait.
Yes, we loved the prawn mee with those 大大大 prawns, especially dry one to enjoy it with chilli. And so great that they provide free refill of the soup.
But actually, we loved their fried Beehoon even more. Totally flavourful with all the yumminess soaked into every mouthful of the Beehoon. Bite into a piece of the crispy fried pork lard with it, woooo thank god it’s Friday.

🇭🇰 Prawn mee from @hainanshaoye. The soup was okay - very shrimpy but tasted like they forgot to add salt!!! The noodles were also meh, tasted more like ramen than oil noodles. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. The SERVICE on the other hand was pretty atrocious. Apart from the very nice younger waiter who was taking our order, the older, middle aged men were EXTREMELY rude and had terrible attitudes. Ruined the entire atmosphere. Wouldn’t go back just because of that.
PRICE: $98 HKD

I used to wonder why there was always a long queue at this stall every morning while I did my wet market shopping!
For some reason, I decided to give the stall another try, despite remembering that I hadn’t liked it when I last tried it (many years ago!). The dry noodles weren’t that bad, but the soup was just bland, taking away most of the joy from the dish.
Oh well. Lesson learned (again!). Definitely not giving them another try. 😆
