afterhours 🌚 collaboration x @mkbutz
the after-afterparty collection is now up on my website. shop/collect the limited-edition canvas totes, works on paper + the after-afterparty neon sign (edition of 5) 🎉 for the full catalogue of original paintings, please send me a message.
Currently on view | "The idea behind my process is not to mirror imagery in the sense that photorealist painters do, but to capture a space between a high-definition world and fantasy, one that is allegorical in nature. With that thought, I prefer to keep with abundant detail, intense colours, and complex compositions in a naturalistic sense." Swipe for a view of this canvas at an angle, showing Ozeri's painterly strokes along the boundaries of the composition.
Yigal Ozeri, Untitled; Cristal, 2019. Oil on canvas. 20 x 30 in.
30 minutes sketch over an old nude. Sometimes the best thing that we can do to give an old painting new life is to paint over it. All of the richness, color, and texture of the painting underneath creates a beautiful history.
The Sun Shines Down on Me, 2019 (detail) by John Wentz @johnwentz
Next week John will be be in Düsseldorf, Germany for the opening of his two person exhibition with @guy_denning at @prettyportal Gallery. “As painters, photos generally just work as references or springboards for paintings. I really wanted to integrate the two because they have such a wonderful juxtaposition in both their similarities and differences. I first tried integrating the two by collaging my own images in the paintings. They are mostly painted over with just bits showing, but they are in there. Ive also been exploring with painting on my photographs which is fascinating because it can complete change the narrative. I have other ideas I want to explore in the following months.” #Paintguide#PaintguideMagazine#art#artist#artistsoninstagram#contemporaryart#2019#exhibition#johnwentz

Good Trip (detail) by Marco Mazzoni @marcomazzoniart “I have always used colored pencils since my early childhood, so they are definitely the medium I am more at ease with and know best. What I find interesting about them is that through colored pencils on paper, universally considered as a “poor” combination of mediums, you can still give your artwork a quality comparable to that of an oil painting. My whole life until now has been accompanied by colored pencils and I will keep up with them for the longest time.” #Paintguide#PaintguideMagazine#art#artist#artistsoninstagram#contemporaryart#MarcoMazzoni#marcomazzoniart
Some details from my collaboration with @cameramoda.
I did a mural during their event, about sustainability in the fashion industry and how it must respect the sustainable processes: from the design, to the production of the materials, to the manufacturing of the product.
Fortunately I worked with @fernandocobelo to complete the 10 meters wall within 3 hours.
Thanks to @ready2flyit for the art direction and the opportunity.

Shine Through Tears, 2017 (detail) by So Youn Lee @soyounlee
So Youn Lee's Solo show “ Parallel World " opening TONIGHT @gallery_stan Gallery in Seoul ; The exhibition runs from September 18th until October 13th. “… when I think of the term ‘innocent’ it feels like there’s pure potential to be or to do anything we like to do. So if my work evokes those feelings to the audience, I am happy and I’m glad it gives a positive image and feeling to the audience that sees it… I use to love spending time in nature by myself as a child, imagining many beautiful and weird things. Those imaginations helped me to become a person to work in a creative field. The freedom that we have had to explore things in our own ways in childhood could influence and mold us as an adult.” #Paintguide#PaintguideMagazine#art#artist#artistsoninstagram#contemporaryart#2019#new#exhibition#soyounlee
I’m so excited to share with you my latest collaboration: I did a wall for @cameramoda about sustainability in the fashion industry! I worked side to side with @fernandocobelo and we concentrated the work on how fashion must respect the sustainable processes: from the design, to the production of the materials, to the manufacturing of the product.
10 meters wall, 3 hours, to represent how @cameramoda is sensitive about sustainability.
Thanks to @ready2flyit for the art direction and the opportunity.
Il giardino dell'ippodromo, 2016. Oil and mixed media on board. 30 x 30 cm (12 x 12 in).
"Rooted in Carl Jung's concept of 'anima', Yigal Ozeri's depictions of a revitalised connectivity to nature prompt a confrontation of subconscious effeminate identity and reinstate the beauty of innocent authentic experience. His photorealistic oil paintings convey the spirit of his subjects, giving way to a seductive power. As a result, the viewer is compelled to gaze into the allegorical domain between reality and fantasy."

Imbuing artworks with soft and ethereal nature emotions, Tran Nguyen @mynameistran will be here this week sharing her favourite artists, discussing her inspirations and creative process behind her work with us. Known for her psycho-therapeutic intention behind her imagery, she centres our attentions on harnessing these visual of the unconscious mind and the surreal visions of dreamworlds. Tran presents each new creation to draw towards the narratives and explorations into the mind’s landscape and navigating its rocky psychological terrain. • ”I try to pinpoint the concept behind each of my paintings toward a specific but universal emotion we’ve all dealt with in our lives. It’s my hope that the viewer can relate, recollect, thus foster well-being from what they interpret. The frequently used themes in my work are melancholy, nostalgia, and a very muted color palette… There’s beauty in man-made creations, but I always find them derivative of nature, like an extension of organic forms. When creating, I strive to create beauty in my work, whether in its concept or tone.”
