Pacific Crest Trail | 28 JULY | Miles Walked: 23.9 (38.24 km) | Start Mile: 2328.3 End Mile: 2352.2 • One of the best things I love about camping alone is being able to get up very early in the mornings and start hiking out as the sun rises. It’s one of the most beautiful times of the day and I love watching the world light up as everything is temporarily transformed by this stunning glow.
Walking thru lava rocks on the Arenal 1968 trail. This volcano can be seen all around town if the sky is clear.
There is a cost to enter the trail. I think it was 16 or 18. There is a long and short trail up the lava rocks. The long trail takes you thru the forest and I recommend doing it to see all the different vegetation. You’ll be rewarded with great views of the volcano at the top.
Wear closed shoes. There are a ton of ants building their colonies on this trail as well as other bugs, plus it can get rocky. You’ll also see monkeys and lots of butterflies on this trail too.
