Let’s talk about how important it is to appreciate kids from a very early age 😊
I always, always, always try to appreciate K even when he does something as little as spin a toy, finishes his meal or when he walks from one end of the room to another exploring things. It really helps him as it gives him a sense of achievement and boosts his confidence to another level. I made it a point to use words like Fantastic, Superb, Well Done, Great, Good, Amazing, Fabulous, Awesome, Thumbs Up, Thank You and more with a huge smile on my face on a daily basis ever since he was as little as 3 months old and started spinning his first toy ❤️😊 Also, besides using words, I use actions/gestures like hugging, kissing, clapping cuddling or even sometimes patting on the back to show appreciation ☺️☺️
In fact, when K falls, I do not pick him up and encourage him to stand up on his own and say, Nothing happened! You are good boy, and I know you can do it! And it really works. Then I appreciate for taking the effort! It only only makes him independent, but am sure will help him in future too 🤗🥰
What appreciation can do to your kids: ☺️☺️
✅ Boosts Confidence and makes them feel good about themselves 😊
✅ Gives then a Sense of Achievement 😀
✅ Encourages them to explore more ☺️
✅ Will learn to appreciate others 🥰 ✅ Help them cultivate positive behaviour and attitude towards things 😊
✅ Will learn to value qualities like compassion 🤗
✅ Will emotionally benefit the child 😎
✅ Helps in strengthening your relationship 😊😊 Let’s me know how you appreciate your kids and if this helped in any way! 😎😎 #mksdiaries 😘😘
I am exhausted. Our littlest is sick. It’s been this roller coaster of emotions around here, hoping that she will sleep so we can all wake up refreshed, and then the next day just trying to get through with swollen, sleep deprived eyes.
I want to be out making traditions and memories this time of year. Not stuck inside. I mean guys, I haven’t even been able to shop for presents for my kids yet....yep, it gets to me when my plans are changed. I love making plans and sticking to them! When things run smoothly, the house is clean, and stuff gets accomplished, I sleep better!
However, amidst my grumpy attitude about all that I can’t do....the Lord got ahold of me. While reading ‘Becoming Mom Strong’ by Heidi St. John this morning, she references Proverbs 16:9 which states, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” Oof. Thank you Lord for the reminder. I am not in control.
This week I encourage you mamas, that whatever steps the Lord has established that are different than the ones you had planned....give grace to yourself. I’d say to go ahead and struggle with your disappointment. But don’t linger in that negativity. Instead let’s choose to receive His peace and accept whatever He has for us! Rest in His promise that He will never leave us or forsake us. What we are walking through isn’t a surprise to Him. Peace be with you mamas!
Hey Em, guess what... Today is LAUNCH DAY👯♀️💕
Emily 😮 #ithinkshesexcited
Get your daughters, besties, sisters, mamas ready and meet us at the Barre because this one is going to be FUN!! Don’t worry you don’t have to be a dancer or graceful 🙋♀️😂
It’s 5 days a week, 30-40 mins long, a fun low impact high intensity program that will sculpt your entire body especially the BOOTY 🍑 You know what to do but in case you need a reminder just drop an “IM IN” below or fill out the #linkinbio
You can rise up from anything. You can completely recreate yourself. Nothing is permanent. Your not stuck. You have choices. You can think new thoughts. You can learn something new. You can create new habits. All that matters is that you decided today and never look back.
Shout out to all the ladies that are showing up each day and being consistent with their health and wellness journey. Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.
Happy Monday! I feel like I’ve been out of the loop for what seems like forever! The flu is NO JOKE 😩😷 crazy enough the week of being down I learned some things that I probably already knew but really put into perspective
1. I can sleep an entire day away and still sleep at night
2. Even when sick, I will still say yes to @mcdonaldshouston
3. Getting the flu shot is worth it if it means possibly not getting the flu
4. Missing events is totally okay. Your health is #1, don’t feel bad for that
5. You ARE contagious lol (Jeff got sick literally less than 2 days after me)
Your health is and should always be #1 don’t put yourself at risk for anything because the recovering takes twice as long!
Anyways, it feels good to be back to a “normal” make sure you’re washing your hands ☺️ Happy Monday friends 😘
HAPPY SWEET SIX MAALIYAH!! 🎂🎊🎁🎈🎉 I’ve been very emotional lately! I’m finding myself reflecting on my journey of motherhood while I prepare for the next phase of parenting! Normally, I’ll giving myself new goals to push to new limits as a woman\mother but this weekend my thoughts have not been the same! Instead, I’ve realized how much I’ve grown, transformed & reached so many goals! Then I look at my daughter & I’m proud of the person that she has become! She’s literally my heart & life line so today I am giving myself permission to not care about everything being perfect with all my special plans for this week but to give myself permission to re experience all the emotions I felt on this day when she entered this world & forever changed me!! ______________________________________ #kidsofinstagram#sweetsix#unicornparty#babygirl#babygirlphotos#mcm#kidsbirthdayparty#kidsbirthday#momsofinstagram#mombloggersofig#momblogger#lifestyleblogger#fashionblogger#mississippi#jacksonms
It’s hard getting into the holiday spirit when life hits like crazy. My oldest daughters & I visited my grandfather who I hadn’t seen in years in the ICU yesterday. He lost his battle with complications from pneumonia hours after we left. Although we weren’t close I know he loved me and would’ve been happy the kids and I came to the hospital. Prayers for my grandmother who is such a kind hearted woman during this tough time ❤️
My thoughts and prayers go out to every person missing a loved one this season. •
So can you all believe Christmas is in 9 days?! 🙈 I can’t believe I actually got the Christmas gifts wrapped last night! I’m usually THAT parent. The parent rushing to get things wrapped on Christmas Eve 🤦🏼♀️ I do however still have last minute things to get but I’m sure I’m not the only one 🤣
Andddd shout out to @lularoe for sending me an amazing package of fun new clothing to show you all! This swing dress is part of their Charcoal Collection and I love it! So soft & comfy 💞
💙HAPPY MONDAY! 💙• Good Morningggg 🤗
Y tú, ¿cómo mantienes a tu bebé monitoreado mientras duerme?
One of my favorite baby products @get_nanit my second pair of eyes during the night. I love the design of the camera and we can watch him from our phone or any other mobile devices with the Nanit app. •
We had a very interesting weekend. One of those weekends that makes you reflect on everything in your life because you’re forced into a situation you don’t want to be in. This past weekend we were reminded that the most important thing is family. Not money, cars, Christmas presents, jobs, parties or anything else we prioritize (at this time of the year especially) on a daily basis. In a matter of seconds (and through reflection over the last few days) I was reminded that Bert and our children are the world - my world, so the world in my eyes. All the “things” in our world can go - BYE - so long as they are in my arms.
So as we all move into this next week, what many consider the most stressful week leading up to Christmas for honestly, pretty superficial reasons (sorry but true), please stop amidst your “chaos” and truly reflect on what’s important. This will of course be different for everyone but be present for the special moments. Spend time however possible with the important people in your life. Eat the good food, say happy holidays to everyone, but someone a coffee, hug your mom, kiss your lover more, tell your kids how special they are. Just please live in those good moments with the people who deserve your love the most and who reciprocate with love because believe me, there’s no money, job, party, purse or fancy car that’ll fill in the gaps of love and the scary moments that happen in our lives happen to remind us of that...to remind us of what’s really important.
Had a day full of clients for holiday makeup so decided I wanted to be comfy + cozy!! 🐻 Downside to that it was windy af yesterday but 50 degrees so a little warm for a hat but it kept my hair from blowing all over the place!! 💨 My Sherpa jacket + hat our from last holiday season but I will share similar options in my stories!! ❤️
Winnie's face perfectly describes what we were all thinking when the 100th person asked is if we "knew we had pooh all over our dresses" 🤨. This level of matching, though very extra, is what happens when your local @joann_stores has all the Disney fabric I never knew I needed 😂. If you could be covered head to toe in one Disney Character, who would it be?
Grabbed this adorable card by @amgreetings for Christmas Eve when it is time for Bells to go home! What is something special you guys do on the last day when your elf is around? Do they bring a surprise? #Sponsored#LessStressMoreJoy
It’s Monday and it’s cold outside, and we could not be more ready to take on the new week! Yes, you heard me 😉
We had the most incredible, fun, relaxing weekend at the @kartriteresort , New York’s biggest indoor water park located in the Catskills (Monticello) less than 2 hours drive from Manhattan! We literally had a blast: from the gigantic room (we had a deluxe two bedroom) perfect to accommodate our family of 5, to the private cabana just a few steps from one of the main kiddie pools, to the arcade area with endless entertainment options for grownups and little ones alike, everything was thoughtfully designed so that we could TRULY enjoy the experience. I’m honestly so so impressed 👏🏻 This mama ➡️🙋♀️was even able to treat herself to a 30 minutes SPA treatment (picture provided as evidence) and I felt like I was reborn after my massage! 🤩
Check out the stories highlights on my feed for more, and let me know if you have any questions about the @kartriteresort , I know you guys will love it! 👙💙💦 Needless to say Ariel & Liv are already asking when we are going back - soon enough girls, soon enough 😉 - -
A day late but I still had to share the cuteness. I couldn’t decide which pic was my fav of those crazy kids so I just posted them all ❤️ #sundayswiththerods
Soon it will be Christmas Day🎅🏻🎄
I am so proud to be their Mama! Love our little Mexico and Angel babes! Their favorite weekend of the year! One dress rehearsal, three shows and that’s a wrap... and to think next year we’ll have all three in it 😅. 🎄♥️ #giftsofchristmas#nutcracker
Soft Glam💕 Its been awhile since I've done a #makeupmonday tutorial so with Christmas and New Years fast approaching it was the perfect opportunity to put this look together. Head over to my instastories or IGTV for the full tutorial💕
Ps I messed up on this tutorial, it was the first time I had used this palette and the pigment is unreal especially in the darker shades(oops lol!) I debated restarting or editing it but wanted to show as in life, mistakes happen and it's nothing that a little blending wont fix 💕
