Happy Birthday to me! I’ve had the best day chilling in a converted barn in Looe. Are pot noodles, Doritos and finished season 2 of Mindhunter 〰️ perfect! It’s nearly 2am now & I’m still wide awake, can hear the peacocks 🦚 outside! 😱😱 can’t believe I’m 34! Am I an adult now?! 🤪
Our first family holiday ♥️♥️♥️ anyone who knows us knows that we LOVE hotels. Unfortunately, the ones we love the most all seem to be adults only. So when we were looking at booking our first family hol there was a big sigh that most of our favourites were instantly off the list 😢 Luckily for us our absolute favourite hotel ( @scarlethotel) has a sister hotel right next door!!! So the decision of where we’d go for our first holiday as a family has been made pretty easy... and so after hours and hours of driving we are finally here @bedruthanhotel ♥️ we just need the sun to come out to play now! As you can see Isla is already kicking back and relaxing 🤣
Full hotel review to follow... but what I can say is one night in and we are off to an amazing start ♥️♥️♥️ #Cornwall#lovecornwall#familyholiday#childfriendly#hotel#bedruthanhotel#relax#beach#sea#seaview#familytime#motherhood
Something a little different to my usual landscape photography!...
Yesterday, I attended the "Watergate Bay Speed Hillclimb." There were plenty of interesting cars in the competition - some beautifully presented classic examples. .
I have been known to snap cars at shows in the past - but never moving ones!...
This presented a new challenge for me. I didn't want to just up my shutter speed to "freeze" the cars as they hurtled up the hill - I wanted to show that they were moving at speed.
So, I found a "Panning" setting on the camera and did my best to capture the cars as they whizzed past. As the afternoon went on, I began to have more success. .
I was too close to the action though to use the Panning setting as (I believe) it's intended - getting the cars side profile in focus. Instead, I was getting just the front of the car in focus - which it could be said, gives an impression of speed!
