This is, I believe, a female Putnam Jumping Spider (Phidippus putnami). It was very hard to find identification for and took confirming based off of sketches from a scholary article. Things that helped me ID: The narrowing abdomen, the white markings on the abdomen, the tufts above the eyes, and the white band across the face. I really couldn't find much else about them. This one was found in my car, only seconds after finding a different jumping spider (which will get its own post soon, too) walking on the window. I suspect they dropped in when my door brushed up against the small trees I stuffed my car between for shade. They were both great finds but I really like this one - I think a P. putnami may have been the first I ever photographed before I started trying to ID them, sparking my interest in jumpies. It's always really cool finding them.
