Our county had implemented that all essential workers have to wear a mask. Ive been doing for 3 shifts at my work and i have no idea how they are working those hours and putting in that time. THINK AGAIN! ⁣💃🏌 ⁣ It’s no surprise that taxing your muscle tissue has a better anabolic (muscle growth) response than a workout that does not actually tax your muscle tissue. So how do you do this since you likely don’t have access to heavy weights right now? Train to failure! ⁣ ⁣ This is why you see a lot of my workouts utilizing higher reps right now!💪🏌 ⁣ ⁣ What else can you do for more effective at home workouts? Increase the muscle tissue recruitment. How? Changing the speed of movements and doing more dynamic movements (ie jump squats instead of air squats)👌🏌⁣ ⁣ Ok, great. What else? Adjust your time under tension. This will wear out the initial muscle fibers recruited for the movement, which then requires more muscles to be recruited – they get worn out and more muscle fibers are recruited – working more and more muscles until all have been recruited and you hit failure! ⁣😅 ⁣ Alrighty now that we’ve established that you CAN get better during this time, LETS GET AFTER ITTTTTT🀩 ⁣ ⁣ Upper body – perform in as large of groups as possible; ie if you can hit 50 reps with the weight you have available, DO IT then rest for a bit and continue on with the movement until you get to 100! I started with about $350 worth of equipment (that was brand new probably be cheaper if you bought used) and a little corner of my bedroom that might have been 3 ft by 5 ft at most. I have seen these supplements all over IG (specifically from @kathrynm_fit) and I felt like especially right now this would help ensure my immune system is stable!💪 . This video is about how I got started with the My Transphormation Challenge. • I started in my first challenge about a year ago! 🀯 • It is crazy to me to think that a year has gone by already! • When I did my first challenge, I was going down a slippery slope of not taking care of my body. • I was in full time grad school and I didn’t believe that I had the time to eat right or exercise. • As spring was rolling around, I decided I wanted to try to make it a priority again to take care of my body. • The challenge was a great chance for me to stay motivated (through the great My Transphormation community) and stick to a goal. • That challenge helped me find my love for exercising again and getting back into healthy habits. • After that I decided I wanted to help others do the same, so I became an advisor for the challenge. • That doesn’t mean that I have stopped working towards improving myself, I am no where near where I want to be so I continue in the challenges myself. • Helping others also helps me, bc helping to keep others accountable helps me to keep myself accountable! • These past few months have been a big change for me, I went from the best shape I have ever been in to being non-weight bearing for 2 months. • That didn’t stop me though, the last challenge I focused on getting my leg better and learning how to walk again. • This challenge my goal is getting stronger and decreasing my body fat! • I can’t wait for this challenge! Sunshine on my mind☀⠀ ⠀ Today as I worked outside I also sat down and wrote out & thought hard about what I want to accomplish from a nutrition & fitness standpoint. ⠀ ⠀ It was perfect because I needed this opportunity to sit & put in perspective what my health & fitness goals are at this point in time. ⠀ ⠀ And my conclusion was that my upcoming goals are based on consistency with my nutrition in tracking my meals. ⠀ ⠀ I eat well already, but I only track sporadically which no matter how well you eat makes a difference if you don’t know how much you’re taking in. ⠀ ⠀ I am excited to see the changes my body will go through by consistently hitting my macros daily & not under eating. ⠀ ⠀ I am looking forward to my body using all the food for fuel and changing. The parameters are simple, knock out 300 push ups (either regular or kneeling) as well as 600 glute bridges. . . You will notice that I had my heels elevated on an ottoman during the glute bridges. Elevating the heels increases the range of motion you can work through, and also recruits the hamstrings a little bit more. Give it a try, if you are up to it 😉 . . Day 15 of Phase 3 of #LiveHard. 🏀 Today was unquestionably the best day so far. 🏀 I got three workouts in with a hat tip to Mother Nature. It was 70s and sunny, which was the nicest day of the year. 🏀 The day started with 45 minutes on the @onepeloton followed by playing tennis. In the early evening I got in a ball sesh where we played some 21 followed by some trick shot attempts and a timed 3 point contest to see how quickly we could make 10 (shout out @jw2180) 🏀 My vibes all day were off the charts. 🏀 Days like today make me thankful for my health. 🏀 They also serve as great motivation to keep getting better. 🏀 Ball is life.

Yesterday I took the kids to the park and knew I needed something quick but that could work my muscles and get my heart rate up! - Enter....lunges and mountain climbers! Easy, adaptable, and can be done anywhere! (By "easy" I mean they don't require anything complicated to execute them...other than balance lol) - 5 supersets of these two coupled with body weight squats, planks, jump squats and an hour of tennis with the family ❀ - Make the best use of what you have available and just get it done. EVERYONE, myself included, wants to know the “SECRET” to success. . People spend their whole lives looking for the secret... . And I’ve had this post by @andyfrisella saved for a few years so I never forget the secret. . "The "secret" can be found in the Axe. . The Axe is such a simple tool, but incredible tool. . Its not complicated. . Its not fancy. . Its not glamorous. . It IS extremely effective. . Its been a tool that's literally shaped our landscape, build civilizations and provide for families for hundreds of years. . There are four aspects to making an Axe effective: . 1. You gotta swing the Axe. No trees get cut down with the Axe laying on the ground. You gotta swing it...HARD. . EFFORT . 2. You have to hit the tree in the same spot over & over & over again. It does you no good to go up & down the tree swinging wildly. You have to hit your mark many many times. . CONSISTENCY . 3. You have to have a sharp blade. It does you no good to pound away at a tree as hard as you can in the same spot with a dull blade. You have to be notice when the blade gets dull and take a minute, step back and sharpen it. . SELF AWARENESS & PERSONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT. . 4. Even if you swing as hard as you can, in the same spot, with the sharpest blade...cutting down a tree takes time. You cant do it in just a few swings. You have to keep going until the tree starts to fall and gravity brings it all the way down. . PATIENCE & PERSEVERANCE . The Axe is amazingly simple, yet labor intensive....just like success in anything. . If you are not making the progress you think you should and cant figure out why... I 100% GUARANTEE you that the answer is in one of the 4 elements of The Axe. . My wish for you is to approach your life as a Lumberjack would approach using an Axe. . YES, of Course! • But do I? The sun is shining & I worked up a sweat in the heat during my outside workout, I am one 😁HAPPY Girl😁 . I’m super competitive, and always up for a good challenge! That being said AMRAPS are workouts I tend to shy away from simply because I know they’ll be brutal (hints my competitive spirit) Well In true AMRAP fashion, This One didn’t disappoint 🥵 . All you need is a mat and a dumbbell! Here’s the deets; . As Many Rounds As Possible (AMRAP) for 25 minutes 😎: . 1. Snatches x 15 each arm 2. DB hop overs x 15 each way 3. Sprint 150 meters (get yourself a pace partner like I did and you’ll really be pushed!🀪) 4. Plank x 1 minute 5. Flutter kicks x 50 total . Take as little amount of time between each exercise and the shortest break possible between rounds . I got 6 rounds in; and died a little in the process! Lol! . 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐩 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠⁣ ⁣ Have you noticed that you tend to self-sabotage when you’re working towards something? Is it something you’d like to finally put an end to?⁣ ⁣ Self-sabotage is your minds subconscious way to protect you. If you know all the tips and tricks to lose weight, you’re doing your exercises, and following your routines, why are you seeing minimal results? The answer could be a subconscious reaction.⁣ ⁣ 𝙄𝙚 𝘟𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝘌 𝘜𝙖𝙙 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜? Most people fear the unknown, and you may be one of those people. That may be the actual reason that you aren’t reaching your goal. Sometimes being comfortable with where you are could be the reason that your subconscious is sabotaging all of your hard work.⁣ ⁣ 𝘿𝙀 𝙔𝙀𝙪 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙎𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙚𝙚 𝙒𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝘜𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙀𝙚𝙚? If you feel that you would receive resentment or jealousy from your friends and family once you finally hit that weight loss goal, that could be a large part of the reason for your self-sabotage. Nobody likes feeling alienated or uncomfortable when around friends and family. If you feel like those close to you are expecting you to fail, then that will have a subconscious reaction associated with it.⁣ ⁣ 𝘿𝙀 𝙔𝙀𝙪 𝘜𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙔𝙀𝙪 𝘌𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝘿𝙚𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 𝙄𝙩? If you’ve ever been in the situation where you thought someone close to you wouldn’t accept you if you succeeded in your goals, that could also be a large part of your self-sabotage.⁣ ⁣ Take some time to truly think through these questions and identify the ones that feel appropriate to your situation. Then take the time to prime your mind to overcome those thoughts.⁣ ⁣ It’s been said time and time again by hundreds of people. What your mind believes; you will achieve.⁣ ⁣ You can control those self-sabotaging actions with a little bit of work! ⁣ ⁣ Do you have any self sabotaging habits?
