Charles is a proud grandfather of 4—just take a closer look at his shirt. He and his wife are the primary caregivers to their grandkids, but providing them with the food and care they need to thrive is a constant struggle. Charles worked for years in the trucking industry, but a work injury led to his leg being amputated. He's now on disability, but their rent is almost as much as his monthly income. Fortunately, his family has access to nutritious food at one of our Partner Agencies in McMinnville. “God bless you,” Charles says “[The pantry] is a blessing to all of us.” 💚 Head to the link in our profile to support fathers and grandfathers in need this Father's Day. Right now, all gifts will be doubled.
Hunger is hunger; but the hunger that is satisfied by cooked meat eaten with a knife and fork differs from hunger that devours raw meat with the help of hands, nails and teeth.

- Day One -
Why a time-lapse of me eating I hear you say?! 🤔
This was my first #breakfast on the #rationChallenge of #rice and #water or as is in the recipe book #congee.
It took me around 2 hours to prepare my #food for the next few days and during that time I had a few #thoughts and feelings.
I'm #feeling good, #excited even. 😄
This is alot of rice... 🤔
Just rice and water... Really?! Ooo I'm #hungry now. Wish I could have peanut butter and toast. 😬
This is taking a long time, I wish I could #eat right now! 😩
Isn't it funny how we rely on #instantGratification, especially with food. With all the food that's available right now we rarely take time to #appreciate how #lucky we are to have it readily attainable. 🙏
I'm going to pour love into these meals and be so grateful for this time to reflect about it 💜
Just a few things there that went through my mind during my #cooking session this morning. Finally being able to eat was wonderful, it felt as if there was so much more in the food than just rice and water. I certainly appreciated it more.
I didn't expect to feel this way already on day one but I continue to surprise myself 😊

“For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.”
When we think of God’s provision for us we tend to list the blessings that we can see and touch. Health, shelter, food, family, friends, and jobs come to mind. Here in today’s verse the Lord offers something greater, the satisfaction of our souls.
He speaks here not to everyone, only to the soul who thirsts for God. To the one who can say, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for you, O God”, He says come and drink (Psalm 42:1). To anyone who cries out to Him, knowing they are not whole without His presence, He brings satisfaction at the deepest level.
The thirsty soul cries out, “There is none like You O Lord.”(Jeremiah 10:6). To that soul God promises satisfaction and rest. ““If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the scripture said, “From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.””(John 7:37). #life#peace#satisfaction#meaning#hunger#thirst#god#bible#jesus
