👩‍🍳 Why I stopped being a raw food chef. Have you ever heard of the “bliss-point”? It’s a term used in the food industry. Companies or chefs who make food try to create the perfect balance between sweet and salty to leave the customer wanting more and more of the product 🍔 This is the reason you’re addicted to your favourite tomato sauce 🥫 or salad dressing and keep eating it despite actually feeling full. Having been a raw vegan chef for 5 years, I have mastered the bliss point in the food that I make, which at first made me happy because everything tasted absolutely scrumptious… 🥙 but then it dawned on me after I was eating my second salad 🥗 to the point of almost throwing up (that’s how full I was!) that I was addicted to my own flavours!! It’s not that I needed that second salad, I simply wanted the taste of the dressing, but with each spoonful my brain kept saying more, MORE!! Why is it that we fully accept addictions such as drugs or alcohol, but food addictions are often overlooked? 🍟🍕🍝🍭 In my opinion, they’re even worse, as food is readily available in any supermarket, specially sugar. I had a choice to make… And thus I had to make a difficult decision, and I decided to give up my raw food career. 🥬 I will still do workshops on occasion and do some catering for retreats, and of course I will still have my raw vegan book (click on the link in bio) 📖 , but I won’t be catering everyday like I was doing it before. So that’s the story, which is also why I haven’t been active on my Instagram. Progresser constamment... J'ai décidé de vous montrer le meilleur de moi même parce que je pense que c'est en montrant l'exemple de bons agissements qu'on peut inspirer🙏. Je ne crois pas que dénoncer le négatif sans proposer de solutions positives soit une solution🤷‍♀️. Mais même en voulant montrer le meilleur de soi, nous ne sommes que des humains dans leur parfaite imperfection😉. Mes sentiments, mes émotions, parfois je ne les gère pas. Et hier soir, j'ai eu peur😱. J'ai entamé un changement profond dans ma personnalité à la base négative et défaitiste🤦‍♀️. Je n'ai jamais autant progressé. Et je suis proche de franchir encore un cap important pour moi🤗. Et comme chaque fois que je vois cette ligne d'arrivée, j'oublie de regarder le chemin parcouru pour arriver là, le chemin qu'il reste à faire et je ne vois plus que le point final. C'est mon éternel problème d'oublier de vivre dans l'instant présent et de lâcher prise☺️. Alors hier, j'ai eu peur, peur de me planter, peur du jugement (le mien qui est souvent plus dur envers moi même que celui des autres)...mais qui serai-je pour vous dire d'arrêter d'avoir peur, vous conseiller si je n'avais jamais eu peur. J'ai appliqué les conseils que je donne. Je ne suis pas resté dans ma bulle, j'ai trouvé quelqu'un avec qui discuter. En discutant, on remet les choses à leur place, on calme les angoisses que génèrent la peur. Et ensuite on arrive à pointer ce qui amène à cette situation. Là seulement commencé le travaille pour progresser. Nous ne cesseront jamais d'avoir peur. Les émotions font partie de nous. Alors plutôt que de les refuser, apprenez à les gérer. Être maître de soi est le plus beau cadeau que nous puissions nous faire. CALORIES AND PROTEIN FOR MUSCLE GAIN by @gymfreaksbb If you want to BUILD MUSCLE, making sure you're in a caloric SURPLUS and eating enough protein are absolutely crucial. Here's how you can make sure both are on point. For calories, they should equate to around your BW (lbs) x 16-18. So let's say you're a 150lb person. Take 150 x 16-18, and you get 2400-2700. So to start, this person should eat between 2,400 and 2,700 calories, and can work it up from there based on their progress For protein, you should get around 0.8-1g per pound of BW when in a muscle gain phase. So again if this were a 150 lb perosn we were talking about, we'd simply take 150 x 0.8-1, which comes out to 120-150. So this person should eat 120-150g protein per day. Et un total perdu de 18,3 kg 😊 ▪️ Je suis contente de ma semaine car j'ai fait mes 4 séances comme prévues mais uniquement avec de la musculation [pas de gainage, pas de cardio (ni Tabata, ni LISS sauf jeudi)]. Du coup, elles étaient moins intenses que d'habitude et je pensais que ça allait jouer sur mon déficit calorique. Mais finalement, j'ai été agréablement surprise en me pesant ce matin 😊👍 ▪️ Un gros weekend arrive avec des repas en famille. J'espère que ce ne sera pas comme il y a 15 jours (>9000 kcal 🙈) et que je resterai raisonnable 🤞 ▪️ Et vous, quel bilan pour cette semaine 7 ? ❤️ ▪️ Bon samedi, bon weekend 👊

Wk 20 Day 5 The New me and it’s Saturday and I’m 19 days sober for October ...( really wanted a Gin n tonic last night but didn’t succumb 😂) I love this post , it was sent to me by the lovely Maureen and really made my day . It feels good to be loved ❤️, but I would imagine it makes a difference to Maureen too that’s she’s been able to put a smile on someone’s face this morning by letting they know that they make a difference . I love making people smile it’s part of my DNA but occasionally I get it wrong . I lost a member this week because I didn’t give her the support she needed and that’s a real kick up the bum for me . I failed her and for that I’m truly sorry 😐 . I’m human and occasionally I do miss a cry for help and I’ve apologised ...... anyways ..... On the bright side I have made a difference to a few along the way and so far this year I have got 53 members to goal so it can’t all be bad . Yesterday was a top food day for me . All really healthy and tasty food . Breakfast was overnight oats Lunch was 1/2 a plant kitchen vegan salad and dinner was an amazing bowl of shellfish soup with crusty bread and all within my points . Today I’m busy with work . I’m at a WW training event this afternoon and am planning to eat lunch before I go . Tonight will be a takeaway so I’ve planned in a chicken kebab with salad ( no bread ) and already I’m really looking forward to it . Wellness check in ✨ it’s been two weeks since we returned from hols and I hadn’t had the chance to check-in...well actually, I hadn’t MADE the time to do so as frankly, I was putting it off! It’s all well and good to be off-plan and absolutely have a hoot whilst away but the @ww.uk programme will only work if you are honest and follow it properly! I don’t know whether I thought I would miraculously maintain if I left it for a few weeks...but lesson learnt - go and face the music and sometimes you might have built what you think you will see on the scales up in your head to be worse than you thought! I have put on 2lbs over the last month so was surprising considering what I’ve been up to but I’ll take it and now get on with my aim to be back at goal by Christmas! It’s great to have these deadlines to keep on track...so my Saturday message to you is keep those weekly check-check ins going - you can then draw a line under anything you didn’t want to see, reset your weeklies and mindset and just crack on! 🙌🏼

MANGO RICE DREAM 🥭🍚 Een zoet en warm ontbijtje 〰️ Het wordt weer kouder dus ik kan weer andere ontbijtjes tevoorschijn toveren. Deze is lekker warm en zoet! 〰️ Ingrediënten: (voor 2 personen) - 85gr risotto rijst - 1 mango (of een pakje diepvries mango) - 200ml water - 100ml kokosmelk - het sap en de rasp van een half limoentje - 10gr kokosbloesemsuiker - 1 tl kaneel 〰️ • breng de rijst aan de kook in het water, de kokosmelk en de rasp van het limoentje • zodra het kookt zet je het vuur laag en kook je de rijst in ongeveer 20 minuutjes gaar • snij ondertussen de mango door de helft. Doe 1 helft in de blender samen met de kokosbloesemsuiker, kaneel en het sap van het limoentje. Blend tot een gladde saus • snij de andere helft van de mango in kleine stukjes • als de rijst klaar is roer je de saus door de rijst heen in het pannetje. Het pannetje hoeft niet meer op het vuur te staan maar zo warmt de saus nog even mee op • verdeel de rijst over twee schaaltjes en verdeel de mango stukjes als topping 〰️ Dat klinkt heerlijk toch?
