Today was the Year 12's last day, and my class spoilt me! Flowers and chocolates 🍫💐 feeling very loved ☺ (the Secret Obsession card was an inside joke😆) teaching is a tough gig and at times I've wanted to throw it all away but I don't think I ever could; teaching runs in my blood. It's a privilege to work with young people every day, watching them grow into adults. Not every day is chocolate and flowers but that's what makes these days so special. I've kept all the special notes, cards and thank yous I've received over the years, it really does mean a lot to me. So goodbye class of 2019, go get 'em! .

Welp. This morning, I realized that I didn’t finish an assignment that was due last week! And my first reaction was classic undergraduate SAB: dread, horror, HOW DID THIS EVEN HAPPEN?! And then graduate SAB kicked in with perspective: it’s only one grade, 25 points, there are bigger problems in the world: like the number of foster children who don’t have a place to sleep so they are sleeping on the floor of the social worker’s office. Or the persecution of Christians in the hundreds of thousands worldwide, or the children, women, and men who are sold into slavery and human trafficking. THOSE are problems. THOSE are the big issues.
And this my friends, is why some students should take a gap year (or five) before returning for graduate school. To gain PERSPECTIVE and learn that a number or a letter does not define you and it is certainly not the most important thing in the world - even though at the time it might seem to be super duper important in your world, in the grand scheme of life, IT DOESN’T MATTER (much).
Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk🖤
And of course my type A/perfectionist self will still finish the assignment...)
“Beyond all the courses and all the knowledge that i acquired, this training has brought a huge change within me. It has been a very strong month, both emotionally and physically.”
“Being in a small group, we were able to talk openly and listen to each other’s stories. It was very strong. We cried together, laughed together and i know that we have built very strong bonds.”

//Meet Letty// She’s a graduated student from Certificate 3 down in Fremantle, she’s since started her diploma in Event Management! We asked her what the positives were of studying in such an incredible location ~ she mentioned that she would frequently go to bathers beach (only a few minutes away from the campus), you get your RSA and first aid certificate through the course and you gain a lot of connections through doing your volunteer works! #student#study#freo#freolife#graduate#perth#education#learn#bathersbeach#summer
