A comfort food classic that makes for the perfect easy dinner option! By @dinneratthezoo ~ For the steaks 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 1/4 pounds ground beef I use 90% lean 1/3 cup breadcrumbs 2 tablespoons onion finely minced 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1 tablespoon ketchup 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 1 egg 1 teaspoon minced garlic 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper For the gravy 3 tablespoons butter 8 ounces sliced mushrooms I used cremini 1/2 cup onion chopped 1 teaspoon garlic minced 3 tablespoons flour 1 1/2 cups beef broth 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 2 teaspoons low sodium soy sauce 1 tablespoon chopped parsley salt and pepper to taste Instructions For the steaks Heat the olive oil in a large pan over high heat. Combine the rest of the steak ingredients in a large bowl; stir until thoroughly mixed. Shape the meat into 4 equal sized oval shaped patties. Cook the meat for 4-5 minutes per side or until browned. Remove the steaks from the pan and cover with foil to keep warm. For the #gravy Melt the butter in the pan. Add the mushrooms and onions; season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook the #mushrooms and onions for 5-6 minutes or until tender and browned. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the flour to the pan. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Slowly add the beef broth; whisk until smooth. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Beets - look for medium sized, healthy green tops and ruby red flesh, try to buy with greens intact - roasted, hummus, beet chips, smoothies, pesto with the greens Blueberries- buy organic, look for firm berries as they continue to ripen after picked - sauce for meat, baked crisps, summer salads, dressings, jam Strawberries - buy organic, ruby red with green stems, smell sweet very fragrant - make jam, smoothies, savory salsas, breakfast bowls, roasted Leeks - more white than green parts, smaller means more flavor and you want a firm tight base - roast, grill, braise, ferment Radishes - make sure the greens are green and healthy not wilted and check that the radish itself is whole and not cracked - pickled, grilled, roasted Cucumbers - buy organic, Firm and no blemishes on the skin, retain more flavor when not stored in the fridge - pickled, salads, snacks, peel and saute Green Beans - look for brightly colored beans that snap easily when bent, skin should be smooth and buy them around the same size so cooking times are the same - grilled, sautéed, pickled, bake in a gratin Spring Greens and Herbs - if you can try a piece before buying, look for vibrant color and full leaves try to avoid sad looking wilted leaves, if you go to the farmers market shop early as the greens get wilted with the heat! Eat them as soon as possible they make incredible salads and pestos. But you want to pick one oil in each of these categories!👇🏻 1) woodsy scent (Idaho blue spruce, NLBS, or cedarwood) 2) citrus (grapefruit, lime, orange, bergamot) 3) touch of floral (jasmine, joy, lavender) . Then use vodka as the filler! . Mine: I almost used joy for floral, but last minute changed to jasmine because hubby liked that scent better when I asked 😂 but I used about 15 drops each except for only about 5 drops grapefruit since I already had orange. But when it comes to how much you use — whichever scent you like best (woodsy, floral or citrus) use more of at end to emphasize desired scent!

A very quick, late post on the super-improvised meal I shared earlier on my stories. This was Satay Meatball Wraps with Quick Pickled Radish which I originally got from the @lidlgb magazine which was dropped through my door, but which you can easily find on their website if you just search the recipe name above followed by Lidl recipes 😊 Like I mentioned in my stories, I massively improvised the ingredients, using oat milk rather than coconut milk for the satay sauce, since I had no coconut milk; very quickly skinning half a large kilner jar worth of monkey nuts so I could made peanut butter for the satay; making red onion pickle rather than radish, due to not having any radishes; and using baby leaf salad not mini cos lettuces, as that was what I had. I must admit having made this recipe a good few times, the pickled radish really is a delicious component, and brings together the flavours better than the red onion, so although pickled red onion is yum, in this meal, the radishes the recipes asks for really do go best. All in all though, this recipe was still yummy, and having the confidence to just work with what you have is of such value in the kitchen. Hello!! 😘 Today for lunch I ate spaghetti with cuttlefish and tomato sauce. 🍝 I prepared the sauce basing on my dad's previous recipe and and I managed to get it very similar to his one! 💪 Obviously it wasn't perfectlythe same taste but it was very close to it. 🤩 Here's the recipe: INGREDIENTS: - 250 g of cuttlefish 🦑 - 400 g of tomato sauce 🥫 - 1 tbsp of olive oil - salt 🧂 and pepper - onion - about 70 ml of white wine DIRECTIONS: 1️⃣ Cut the cuttlefish. 🦑 I had already cleaned cuttlefish, but if you buy them yet to be cleaned, before cutting them, remove all the bowels. 2️⃣ Put the tomato sauce 🥫 in a pan with some olive oil and onion and start cooking it. 3️⃣ Then add the cuttlefish 🦑 and the white wine. 4️⃣ Cook until the cuttlefish is ready then add salt 🧂 and pepper. 5️⃣ Cook the spaghetti 🍝 in boiling water. 🔥💧 6️⃣ Two minutes before the end of the cooking of the pasta, drain it and add it to the sauce and let it cook all together for the two remaining minutes. ⏲ This's a complete dish with carbs, proteins and good fats. 💯 It's also easy to do, it takes some time but not too much. 🙌 You should try it! ✌ #healthyfood #eatclean #nutrition #health #healthylifestyle #healthyrecipes #foodlover #foodblogger #food #foodporn #realfood #eatrealfood #mealprep #cleaneats #healthychoices #mangiaresano #vegetarian #fitfood #eathealthy #recipe #healthyfoods #inspiration #cuttlefish #sauce #spaghetti #pasta #lunch #lunchtime #healthylunch #nutritionallbalance

I pray that God restores and brings comfort to our nation 💛 I can't even imagine what Black men and women go through daily and the fears that they live with every time they leave their homes. I haven't thought twice about going on a walk in my neighborhood during broad daylight, asking the cop when I get pulled over why he/she pulled me over, or relax in the comfort of my home. This made me realize that I am privileged because I never had to think of these things. If you haven't either, you have privilege. Today I choose to use my voice and speak up not to stay silent. The topic of racism and black lives isn't easy, but use your voice and have hard conversations with your family, friends, etc. Don't let ignorant comments slide anymore. I have a long way to educate myself better, but I have included some resources in this post that I found helpful. Also, I have included a highlight section called ”BLM” with resources and videos. Attention si tu aimes le chocolat cette recette est pour toi ❤ Le Toochoco @cyril_lignac ici en version baby🙊 Une vraie dinguerie tout chocolatée et équilibrée, et comme pour toute recette au chocolat choisissez un très bon chocolat noir au moins à 65% 🤗 🔶️Pour le biscuit capucine: 🌟Mixez 130g de sucre blond, avec 30g de cacao cru en poudre et 105g de poudre d'amande. 🌟Montez 150g de blancs d'oeufs en neige et les ajoutez délicatement au mélange précédent. 🌟Mettez la préparation dans une poche à douille et pochez des empreintes de 4 cm. 🌟Faites cuire à 175°c pendant 13min, laissez refroidir avant de les utiliser. 🌸 🔶️Pour la ganache chocolat : 🌟 Faites fondre 100g de chocolat noir ici de Tanzanie @cacaobarryofficial au bain marie ou au four micro onde à 400W. 🌟Chauffez 130g crème liquide entière jusqu'à ébullition et la versez sur le chocolat fondu tout en mélangeant. 🌟Quand la préparation est bien brillante, rajoutez 30g de beurre et mélangez.
