Look what I found today in an old Dehradun market somewhere between machhi bazar and dulha bazar. Ok so I made up the name dulha bazar or may be it exists but this market was full of stuff for the dulhas (bride-grooms) 😄😄😁 You get chestnuts in Dehradun during winters and the season has already started. The vendor started telling me the ways to toast it and then went on to explain it to another guy. It is so good to hear people share the methods even if you know how to do. There is always something new to know. He told that you can bury them in burning embers or do it in microwave or on a hot tawa but don't forget to make a slit in each chestnut else all the embers will start flying around as the chestnuts burst open. Bahot takatwar cheez hai he said (it has great strength) 😃
I think we are going to roast them for our brunch tomorrow.
