To reduce the risk of injury a well structured warm up routine is essential.⁣ ⁣ ➕ If you want to and have enough time, you can start with a submaximal aerobic warm up like riding bike, walking, etc. ⁣ ⁣ Or just start with the "routine befor weights".⁣ ⁣ 🔝Make sure, to do multiple warm up sets before you start with your working sets. The movement should always feel as smooth as possible, if this isn’t the case, do even more warm up sets to be safe. You don’t have to do a ton of warm up sets for every exercise, just do the "weight routine" for compound movements and complex exercises - if the next exercise trains the same muscle group, it’s not necessary to do such a long warm up again. Corona has made life tough for all of us but it's a tad bit more for new mothers like me. No wonder this post took a while to come out. They say it takes a village to raise a child and now with the whole corona situation I might just ask for two villages. :) It all started around a month back. My tickets were booked to visit my mother's place but I had to cancel it and I started waited for things to get better but oh boy I was wrong it has only gotten worse since then. Cases have risen exponentially since then Which resulted in increased precautions from our end. So here I am now, doing household chores and raising my 3 month old baby with the help of my work from home husband who is juggling multiple responsibilities on personal and professional front No wonder it's challenging. Time under tension is my main focus 👁- . In all of my workouts going forward and usually what I try to do is be slow and controlled and really focus on form, controlling the weight and move the weight with a purpose not for speed. I also take short rest breaks to keep the push of blood flow into my muscle I am focusing on to exhaust it and make it work harder 🩸- . Today I did a mix of chest and triceps and this was by far my best workout for chest. Utilizing what I have and trying to mimic still very similar exercises that I would be doing in the gym 🤗💪🏻. - . Exercises to follow below: 1️⃣ Chest fly’s - I am really trying to feel the stretch here and after a few reps I realized I wasn’t keeping my head up and forward. Remember to keep looking forward and your head up, I know I have a tendency to look down- . 2️⃣ Single arm tricep extensions- focusing on the movement and with this 30lb resistance I was feeling failure towards the end of this set- . 3️⃣ Flat sandbag chest press- so happy I thought of doing this and was getting reps of 20-25 in mostly for flat. Keep your rear delts flexed and toward each other so your chest is up and high- . 4️⃣ Incline sandbag chest press- For this exercise I decided to kick my butt out a little bit to mimic an incline chest press movement focusing on burning out my upper chest here and man was I feeling the blood rush for sure. Really squeezing and focusing on that during all of these exercises. - . 5️⃣ Low cable chest fly- Here for this exercise I really focus on squeezing my chest all the way up and one final squeeze at the top bringing them together. This one is a pure middle focus on my chest - . 6️⃣ Tricep rope extension mimic- Here of course I am using cables but my thought behind this one was to mimic rope pulldowns for my tricep. I was definitely feeling it and superset this one with single arm kickbacks not filmed.- . Hope you like all of these exercises and gives you some motivation and thoughts for your next exercise. Here’s your Monday morning motivation via @kayjaystrong 🙏🏿💪🏿💜 ————————— ‘These are unprecedented times that require us to improvise a little to maintain the illusion of control and not let go of our goals. I know its hard to stay motivated, all we want to do is lay in bed and eat comfort food (there is nothing wrong with that, believe me, but we can’t let the pandemic win. We have to come out stronger on the other side!) So here are a few things I do to maintain my sanity and fitness, and hopefully they’ll help you too: - I make a to-do list every night so I have something to look forward to the next day. - It’s hard to get the steps in lockdown so I set a timer of 10 mins after every namaz and walk around the house; you could listen to music, podcasts, or even ponder during this time. This way you are guaranteed to get atleast 4000-5000 steps. - Set a goal to read 10 pages of a leisurely book, a work related article and a ‘learn something new’ kind of piece. - I’m not much of a cook, generally hate the idea of being in the kitchen but its a skill everyone should have, so I’m currently experimenting with simple recipes. That’s like my ‘quarantine skill.’ You can take up something you’ve always wanted to do but never got around to it. - Last but not least; working out. That is a real challenge for most but the whole fitness industry is on top of their game; with either home workouts, or virtual classes, live sessions and even one-on-one sessions. So all you really need is to get your butt of the bed and just move for 20-30 mins and then go back into bed! These are just small things you can add to your routine to be a little productive. I’d say pick any two and stick to those for a while and then switch around! Or if you’re feeling super ambitious, do them all!’

Bear Crawl 🐻: zit op handen en knieën en hef vervolgens je knieën tot vlak boven de grond (max 5 cm). Kruip enkele stapjes in alle richtingen. Let erop dat je knieën laag boven de grond blijven! 2. High knees: nu mogen de knieën hoog! 🤪 3. Table tops: goed je billen opspannen! 4. Squats: Ga zo diep als je kan! Hielen blijven op de grond, knieën niet naar binnen laten vallen, ze gaan over de tenen. 5. Ice skaters: Spring goed ver opzij. Losse been gaat achter je standbeen. Armen mee bewegen. Go for it! 🙌

Focus on taking each day as it comes, and remember... Instagram is NOT a fair assessment of how everyone is truly feeling or spending their time. As someone who is a diehard squat rack/deadlift addict, I found it pretty hard to settle into a home training routine. My advice? Focus on previously neglected areas. For me, that translated into corework and outdoor sprints! Try structuring your time so you are done with your training in the first half of the day.’ @amal.sarwar

DAY 4 – MAKE A PLAN AND TAKE ACTION Make a plan and take action You should now have a fairly detailed list of everything that you’ve identified over the last two days as being either a major stressor or minor stresses in your life. Now it’s time to organize them. Your task for today is… Categorize and rate your stressors. Take a fresh sheet of paper and draw three vertical lines to make four columns. Name the columns something like “Home”, “Work, “Health” and “Finances”. Now take your list of stressors and put each one into its correct category. Next rate each stressor on a scale of 1 to 10 depending on how easily you think each one could be dealt with. Once you’ve completed that part of the task, choose one of the stressors from each column and start thinking about what you can change. Start with easiest first and work your way through. For example, If your partner’s snoring is in the “Home” column because he’s disturbing your sleep, have you tried suggesting he wears an anti-snore patch? He might not even realize his snoring is so bad! If struggling to pay off your credit card is in the “Finances” column, can you rein in your spending and eliminate unnecessary expenses like takeaway coffees or the cable TV you never get time to watch anyway? Sometimes it’s easier to keep doing exactly what you’ve always done and stick to your routine. Change can take you out of your comfort zone, even though the things that need to change are making you uncomfortable. By looking at different ways of making small changes, you are not only taking control of your situation, but you can also probably eliminate quite a few of the things that are contributing to the amount of stress in your life more easily than you ever thought. . . .
