A few standouts from our week holiday lineup. The special Tarlant trio with the Brut Reserve (11 base), Cuvée Louis (2016 disgorgement), and BAM! (04/2016 disgorgement)...an excellent La Fontinette is an excellent pure 100% meunier. Chartogne-Taillet's St Anne (2016 base) shows white fruits and flowers, very fresh and good value - one of my favorite sub £50 NVs.
The lazy sunbather summoned out of his furry reveries by a mysterious liquid treasure;) This grower Champagne comes from the hillsides above the village of Merfy, just north west of Reims.
Philippe & Alexander’s Cuvée Ste. Anne is as fine a NV house blend (Pinot/Chard) you can find, delivering well over its price tag!
A unique soils composed of Thanetian era sands and Sparnacian deposits layered with silts, clay and chalk give the wine its appealing and profound mineral quality which combined with meticulous winemaking and minimal dosage (about 4g/L) results in a Champagne perfect for any occasion, especially on a lazy late summer afternoon with nothing to do and nowhere to be.
Aromas of ocean spray, seaweed, citrus, white peach and almond intermingle with deeper, earthy, almost meaty notes...😋
Sorry my furry friend, not for you:) #winelover#winegeek#winetime#winetasting#winepairing#winestagram#sommelier#instawine#winepic#winetravel#foodandwine#sommlife#winewinewine#grapemagic#merfy#champagnelover
