When I visualize myself accomplishing some of my biggest, most audacious goals — I see myself on retreats with women & men. Speaking about wellness, teaching yoga, helping them to reach their highest potential & to truly find joy in their lives.
This March, I get to step into this space with my best girl @steviemersola on a yoga & mindfulness retreat that we’re co-leading in Panama this March.
This retreat isn’t just focused on the physical aspect of yoga. We’re going to shed light on some really ground breaking stuff that has impacted us both + I think you’ll relate to, too. Like how to accept reality when things aren’t going your way, how to shift your mindset to be more confident & joyful, how to ground yourself when your anxiety wants to sweep you away.
Stevie is the real deal. She is radiant. When I’m with her I feel like my best self. Our phone calls usually consist of one of us saying “I have no idea what I’m doing” and the other saying, “yea me too”. We want to create an atmosphere where you can be you — flawed, seeking, confused, uncertain but still full of joy, abundance, grace, and compassion — I promise you’ll get heart transformation out of this 7 day retreat.
Plus, the resort is f*%king amazing — @sansararesort.
So really, what do you have to lose in saying yes to this experience?! Nada. For real. If you’re ready to dig in, get to know yourself a little more intimately, move & flow with other incredible humans.... then come with us. All details in bio 🙌🏼💋 msg me w/ any questions too.
You know that person who finishes your sentences for you?!
I have a colleague who does and let me tell you, it drives me batty!!!
But you know, sometimes, I cut people off almost mid-sentence.
There’s no difference.
Neither one of us is listening to the person in front of us.
(& you know that saying of what you hate about other’s is actually flaws you see/ dislike in yourself....self coaching moment for the win)
How often do you cut people off while they’re talking?!
Whether it’s just in your head or you actually begin to respond before they’re done talking...
ESPECIALLY in business, how the heck are you ever going to connect, build relationships & make sales if you don’t even listen to what the person in front of you needs?! What their struggles are? They’re budget....etc.
Today, this week, the rest of this month I challenge you to follow these steps of ACTIVE LISTENING.
1. Receive - Just listen, quiet your mind & feel where it lands in you. Don’t think of anything else, just get all the facts
2. Understand - Ask questions to make sure you hear them and understand them correctly. Fill in all your gaps
3. Remember - If you don’t remember what they said, you’re not listening. If it’s new information you want to hold on to, try and apply it right away
4. Evaluate - Your opportunity to weigh your facts & what you’ve heard. This is normally where you’ll agree or disagree with the speaker, see a bias or not. Mentally review & summarize
5. RESPOND - LAST! Now is your time to get involved in the conversation. Verbally or non-verbally but make sure the speaker feels heard.
✴️ BIZ TIP: When on a sales call your client should speak 70% of the time. SEVENTY!
Be honest, who needs help slowing this process down & not responding so quick?! AKA FINALLY STOP REACTING!
Raise your hand in the comments! You’re not alone is this 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
La Vida es una Fiesta y con una Sonrisa se Baila Mejor 💃🏻😃
Muchas personas me preguntan que cómo puedo siempre estar tan Feliz, siempre sonriendo y con Buena Actitud?
Cómo no estarlo!!!
Joy has been coming up a lot for my clients of late. There’s a longing in her heart, body and spirit. A longing to exhale. To feel light and yet grounded. To feel secure and supported.
How you plan your day turns into how you plan your life. Your goals and todo lists largely determine how you feel, they create the circumstances for you to thrive or be crushed by the burdens, boredom and curve balls that life throws your way.
The Desire Map is the practical solution to getting your deepest wants on the todo list alongside life admin, kid-wrangling and work. There’s still a handful of 2020 Desire Map planners left that can help you meet your expectations and responsibilities, keep close to your sense of self, and find more joy, love and relief. It’s there. You just have to create the space for it to emerge. DM for info x

I’m big on data. In fact, I believe that’s what sets this platform apart. This one moves me. Just because there ARE women, don’t mean there ARE ENOUGH! I too have been guilty of thinking that more women is enough. And when you are a function-led organization and don’t get to see across the business, your day-to-day may paint a certain picture. Do you have access to the org chart? Go take a look and see across the entire business what it looks like. The numbers don’t lie.
The biggest lesson I learn from Autumn leaves is that.....
there's beauty in death when the purpose of life been fulfilled 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Calling yourself lucky for getting to where you are negates all the hard work that you have put in to get to this point⠀
Don't say you are lucky. Accept that you were fortunate enough to have the opportunities you have had and congratulate yourself for the work you have put in to get here

Our #HavenPRO is @lisaaidoo, a Ghanaian beauty expert who has diversified into real estate business in the Los Angeles area. .
In an interview, she shared this message:
💋 I work in an industry where a lot of people think I’m the buyer or the client and not the real estate agent because the typical agent is a white man with glasses on, and that’s not me. .
💋 I’m just completely who I am and people actually really like that. I bring something different to the table. I have a different way of connecting with people. I have a different perspective and way of communicating information that the next person wouldn’t. .
💋 You’re different, but you’re different for a reason. Nothing changes without change so show up and don’t be afraid. .
💋 Looking different is the advantage, but you also need to deliver. If you’re not delivering by lack of knowledge, by inexperience, or unwillingness, it will only disservice you and that’s when people like to tie in stereotypes. .
💋 But if you know your stuff and are willing to do the hard work, and you’re hungry and look different, it is only going to benefit you.

Work IS life ... so have fun with it! 💃🏽 When I took on internships during engineering school, I thought you could easily compartmentalize your day-job and your personal life -- and boy was I wrong! 🤦🏽♀️ If you have a bad day, you take it home with you. If you're stressed at work, it affects your personal life and mental health. It's so important to find a career you enjoy or at least tolerate and don't mind going to every single day of your life. And if you are feeling lost or stuck in a rut, get out there and explore! Join organizations, volunteer, take a class, start a side hustle. 👩🏽💻 It's never too late to change your career. Sure life is short, but you have to enjoy it, too! 🌹 . .

This great quote is from Mary Beard’s ‘Women and Power’ (which I highly recommend!).
I find that often as feminists, we are so focused on gaining equality that we don’t stop to see if that’s what we really want. Do we want our lives to be the same as the men at the top? And if we had that, who would suffer?
The structure that are ingrained in our society were there before women even featured in the workforce. Nobody had to think about childcare or menstrual cycles because those issues didn’t affect men.
What would you change first?
I have a new post up on my blog today, and it’s one of the most honest pieces I’ve written about success, privilege, and my own background in particular. Although it was inspired by some comments I received on a post this weekend, my point in writing it goes much beyond that.
Many people look to me as an example of success and resilience as a mom and lawyer, but not many people know the challenges I’ve faced in my life to reach the privilege of becoming a mom and lawyer. Growing up, I never imagined that I would be an attorney. I also never believed I would end up being a member of a happy family. That story of grit, resilience, and opportunity is very much a part of who I am, and I discuss that and more in my latest post. I hope you’ll give it a read. The link is in my bio and you can also swipe up in stories. @themomatlaw

Just right before I got into the job field I had imagined how my life would be. I pictured the fairytale life, come back from work, have time to hangout, watch movies but sooner, I had a reality check. The struggle to wake up in the morning, deal with traffic was a mirage, delivering on my job, meeting tasks, deadline and working late was a very hard adjustment for me but I can say I'm getting better everyday. But at the end of the day my smiling face pops out when I'm leaving my desk, truly, home is the best place!!!
What are the hardest parts of your job? Share a bit and you may be preparing the next person .
In order to be effective widespread, you have to come with influence.
Since we as the working class have little to none in the area of
changing corporate conversations, which by the way mirrors politics.
We only have our individual attitudes and behaviors to consider.
Your corporate experience is influenced by the same split hair you
have outside the office. Republican/Democrat is the same behavior
that’s governing your daily office manors or lack . I believed they
are disguised as Core Values .
Why are you surprised ?
The fact that you expect different makes it harder to convince you
otherwise and that is why I never try. You either see it or you don’t
. I will never work on things I can’t fix rather focus on what I can.
@Corporateagendainabox main goal is to support the mental wellness,
self care & logic of the working class who don’t fit into any box and
certainly not focused on boxes of strategies that doesn’t serve our
forward moving lives as it relates to our creativity, value systems
and over all well being .
Our focus should be on how do we turn this around to our benefit and
my friends, it’s only one way.
You can show toxic people how to treat you when you need nothing from them.
It’s time to work smart !
Starting out it should go a little something like this:
ü 𝙁𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝘾𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚
ü 𝙂𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙑𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙡𝙚𝙙𝙜𝙚
ü 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘼-𝙕𝙤𝙣𝙚-𝙊𝙛-𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚
What would you add to the list ?
