Just over two months working with @chloe_mabb we ticked the first box off, lost a few lbs body fat whilst maintaining muscle. Kept calories high and expenditure at a very reasonable level 👌🏻 Onto the next goal now 😊

Light in the dark ✨ (couldn't brighten this vid!!) Another bit of juicy roof from the weekend. Question I keep getting asked: "How come you're climbing like that if you have spinal impairment?" ⠀
Doctors: "Not too sure, given your diagnosis indicates this should be fairly torturous for you, oh btw, also looks like you had a fracture in here (🤣)"⠀
Facts to this point: I generally don't notice pain as much when I am moving, or hanging horizontally like this. I do feel strain through my back in certain movements though, so I can't do those moves. ⠀
I absolutely cannot take any kind of impact - I feel like something will snap or explode. My leg/foot is is a weird state of numbness and pain most of the time. It's significantly worse when I stand - this is my sciatic nerve being pinched, which also causes excessive tension through my hamstring, and a nice bout of piriformis syndrome, the spasms which wake me up in the night, they get so bad at point. ⠀
The body is a mystery and I, we, are constantly learning. I am headed back to the UK this week where I will get time with professionals I trust enormously to evolve my action plan going forward. Another note: it would seem like a lot of the yogic work (such as my @climbflow work) I've done over the years has supported my longevity in strength and mobility and prevented things from going sour sooner than they have done. My @ClimbFlow work was born out of injury - and whilst I am facing a setback - I am also realising greater value in the body of work I have developed over the years. ⠀
And so I head to the UK, to lead a series of @ClimbFlow classes & workshop in London (check my highlights under events!) and also as part of the core team at @womensbouldering festival in Fontainebleau, France. I am in this movement journey for life - it's easy to get fixated on the major present issue - but I believe it's a vehicle for helping to navigate a journey through problems many of us will face throughout our lives - and not be defeated by them. ⠀
